Overview

Description

This 18 AWG, 2-conductor shielded cable delivers reliable signal integrity for industrial control and instrumentation applications across demanding environments. Featuring stranded bare copper conductors with dual-layer PVC/Nylon insulation, the cable resists heat and abrasion while maintaining excellent electrical performance. The aluminum-polyester foil shield with tinned copper drain wire provides complete electromagnetic interference protection, ensuring clean signal transmission. Its sunlight-resistant PVC jacket withstands UV exposure, moisture, chemicals, and oils, making it suitable for outdoor installations, direct burial, and cable tray applications. Rated for 600V at 90°C in dry locations and 75°C in wet conditions, this flame-retardant cable meets UL Type TC and TC-ER standards, qualifying it for exposed runs and Class I, Division 2 hazardous locations. The 1000-foot spool provides ample length for comprehensive industrial wiring projects.

Specifications

Features
Insulation: The conductors have a dual-layer insulation of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) and Nylon. The PVC offers excellent electrical properties, while the nylon provides an extra layer of protection against heat and abrasion.
Shielding: An overall aluminum/polyester foil shield provides 100% coverage to protect the cable's signals from external electrical noise and crosstalk. A flexible, stranded tinned copper drain wire is included to terminate the shield.
Jacket: The outer jacket is typically black, sunlight-resistant PVC, which protects the cable from moisture, UV radiation, and other environmental factors.
Durability: The cable is robust enough for outdoor use and direct burial and is often rated for exposed runs (TC-ER), meaning it can be run outside a cable tray without additional conduit.
Flame and Oil Resistance: It is flame retardant and resistant to oil, chemicals, and other industrial substances, making it safe for use in demanding environments.
